Kuch Ankahi

Continuing the legacy of making path-breaking dramas such as Udaari, Rehai, Akhri Station and Dil Na Umeed Tou Nahin,Kuch Ankahi is the latest production by Kashf Foundation in partnership with Global Affairs Canada. Kuch Ankahi is a modern and light-hearted reinterpretation of Jane Austin’s novel Pride and Prejudice. Through its engaging storyline, the drama tackles important societal issues prevalent in Pakistani society, such as women’s legal and religious rights to property, workplace harassment, societal pressure for early marriages, and body shaming. All of these themes are skillfully woven into the narrative by the writer Mohammad Ahmed, adding depth to the storytelling while maintaining a humorous and witty tone.

The central plot revolves around Agha Jan, the rightful owner fighting for the ownership of his ancestral home, and his family. His second daughter, Aliya, takes on the challenge of settling the claims over the house, leading to intriguing twists and turns in the story. Adding to the excitement, Salman, a young real estate agent, enters the picture as a tenant, bringing further intrigue and surprises to the narrative.

Kuch Ankahi promises to entertain viewers with its light-hearted approach while raising awareness about the economic disinheritance of women in South Asia. The drama cast includes extremely talented and popular actors such as Sajal Aly, Bilal Abbas, Mohammad Ahmad, Irsa Ghazal, Mira Sethi, Vaneeza Ahmed, Qudsia Ali, and  Sheheryar Munawar in lead roles. The show is currently being aired on Ary Digital.
