Kashf Foundation announces Sehat ka Paigham

KASHF Foundation, in collaboration with Global Affairs Canada (GAC), announces the launch of Sehat Ka Paigham—a transformative podcast series aimed at addressing critical issues of malnutrition, stunting, and maternal health in Pakistan.

This initiative is part of KASHF’s ongoing efforts to empower women and promote healthier families by providing evidence-based and affordable solutions. Founded in 1995, KASHF has been a pioneer in empowering women with lending solutions tailored to the diverse needs of women micro-entrepreneurs, changing lives, and realizing dreams over the past 30 years.

To celebrate this milestone, the KASHF Foundation is launching ‘Sehat ka Paigham,’ a podcast that aims to provide expert tips and advice on breastfeeding, malnutrition, and growth stunting in children.

Malnutrition and stunting are among the most pressing health challenges in Pakistan, with 40.2% of children under five suffering from stunting, resulting in long-term consequences for their physical and cognitive development. With a focus on creating awareness and dispelling myths, Sehat Ka Paigham brings together leading health experts to share insights, practical tips, and evidence-based strategies to tackle these issues head-on.

“Sehat ka Paigham” is an eight-episode podcast series created for low-income households in rural Sindh, where women and young mothers often face barriers to accessing reliable health information. Grounded in KASHF Foundation’s research, the series explores the health practices, beliefs, and challenges unique to these communities.

Through thoughtful discussions, the podcast aims addresses the complexities of healthcare access, shedding light on cultural practices, misconceptions, and gaps in knowledge. Each episode covers essential topics such as breastfeeding, maternal nutrition, and maintaining a balanced diet, offering families practical, evidence-based advice to improve their health and well-being.

The podcast features renowned experts in maternal and child health, such as:

  • Prof. Dr. Sadiah Ahsan Pal –   MBBS, FCPS, FRCOG, MRCOG
  • Dr. Shaheen Zafar – FRCOG Medical Director, Sindh Institute of Reproductive Medicine and Co-chair Ob/Gyn, Koohi Goth Hospital
  • Prof. Fouzia Rasool – MBBS, FRCOG, DFSRH, CCT
