Mueen Afzal – Chairman Mr. Afzal holds an M.A in Philosophy, Political Science and Economics from Oxford University. He is a highly respected member of the Civil Service of Pakistan and served as Secretary Finance in the Government of Pakistan (1996-1998) and also in the provinces of Punjab (1984-1986) and Balochistan (1981-1984). He also served as Secretary Health in Islamabad from 1995 to 1996. Mr. Afzal held the post of Secretary General, Finance and Economic Affairs, in the Federal Government from 1999 to 2002, and was awarded the Hilal-i-Imtiaz in 2002 in recognition of his distinguished public service. He is, at present, Chairman of the Pakistan Tobacco Company and a distinguished Member on the Boards of ICI Pakistan and the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy.
Dr. Attiya Inayatullah – Director Dr Inayatullah is renowned for her contributions to women’s reproductive health in Pakistan. She headed the Family Planning Association of Pakistan for 20 years and succeeded in it making it the largest NGO in the country. She has made many contributions through her active involvement in international agencies like the United Nations and the IPPF. She has actively influenced policies regarding women in Pakistan and has been both a Federal Minister (Population) in the past and is currently a serving member on the National Security Council of the Government of Pakistan.
Muhammad Aliuddin Ansari – Director Muhammad Aliuddin Ansari was appointed as the President & CEO of Engro Corporation during in May 2012 and was concurrently Chairman of all its subsidiaries till May 2015. Ali started his career as an Investment Manager at Bank of America in London, and then worked as CEO Pakistan and later as COO Emerging Europe for Credit Lyonnais Securities Asia (CLSA). Following this he was CEO AKD Securities and was instrumental in launching Online Trading, Venture Capital and Private Equity in Pakistan. In 2006 he partnered with an Oil & Gas company to form Dewan Drilling, Pakistan’s first independent drilling company which he led as its CEO before joining Engro. Apart from Engro subsidiaries he has chaired National Clearing Company of Pakistan and a number of SECP committees. He has also served on the Boards of the Karachi Stock Exchange, Dawood Hercules Corporation Limited, Hubco, Lucky Cement and Al Meezan Investment Management amongst others. He is a graduate of Business Administration with a specialization in Finance & Investments.
Rabia Khan – Director Ms Khan is a lawyer by profession and also holds a Masters Degree in Policy and Management from the Carnegie Mellon University, USA. She has worked in the field of gender and development for many years with the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and has also worked with the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) on sustainable development. Currently, Ms Khan works as a freelance consultant and is based in Karachi.
Syed Asim Zafar – Director Mr. Zafar served as the Chairman of the Lahore Stock Exchange and a member of the board of Directors of the Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE), Zafar Securities, National Commodity Exchange and World Call Multi Media. Mr. Zafar has been pivotal in professionalizing and improving the performance of the LSE in his three terms as its Chair. Mr. Zafar holds a degree in Nuclear Engineering from Purdue University, USA.
Riaz Hussain Khokhar - Director Mr. Riaz Hussain Khokhar is a renowned and well reputed bureaucrat who has served Pakistan in many capacities. He served as the Foreign Secretary of Pakistan from June 2002 to February 2005. Mr. Khokhar has also had the distinction of serving as Pakistan’s Ambassador in many countries; these include services as Pakistan's ambassador to India (1992-1997), the United States (1997-1999) and China (1999-2002). Mr. Khokar has been recognized at multiple forums for his dedication and leadership. Currently, he provides freelance consultancy services based on his experience in the civil services.
Tajammal Hussain – Director Mr. Hussain is a certified Chartered Accountant with extensive experience and in depth knowledge of business processes in a wide range of sectors including information technology, manufacturing, financial services, education and charities. Mr. Hussain is a partner of his own Accounting firm, Fakhruddin Yousaf Ali and Company since 1991. He is a graduate of Cambridge University, London School of Economics and has received his Chartered Accountancy qualification from Arther Anderson & Company, London.
Hassan Iqbal – Director Mr. Hassan Iqbal has a Chemical Engineering Degree from Punjab University Lahore. He has worked with the ZELIN (PVT) Limited as an Assistant Manager Sales and has also worked with Mian Ghulam Mohiuddin (Individual Member, Lahore Stock Exchange) as a Managing Partner & Agent of Brokerage House. Currently he is working in MGM Securities as a Nominee Director.
